AFTER THE CLICK – BEFORE WE KNEW WHAT WE SAW, WHAT WE FORGOT

These images are our year-long collaborative project exploring mindfulness, memory, and the art of slowing down. Each month, our group members passed a disposable camera to a different fellow of the group with a simple invitation: pause, observe, and capture one meaningful moment. The project became a quiet resistance to the speed and saturation of digital photography—favouring intention over abundance.

Each frame is a shared imprint of presence: a feeling, a flicker of light, a texture, a pause—often unremarkable, yet deeply human. Without a set theme or visual agenda, we focused instead on the act of noticing itself. The images originated from individual lives but formed a collective body of work - one that captures the emotional texture of a year through spontaneous, mindful attention.

As the film was developed, each image emerged like a fragment of collective memory—imperfect and personal. In forgetting what we had captured, we allowed each image to surprise us again, becoming both artefact and emotional recollection. The result is not just a record of fleeting moments, but a reflection of how we see, feel, and remember—together.
